After Rae had just gotten up to order another cup of coffee, she had noticed a familiar face walk through the door and realized it was Sebastian. This kid was seriously getting to her. She knew he had been the one to call the cops on her the night before.

He seemed to cautiously walk up to Rae. Almost as if he knew she was mad.

“Rae.” He said softly.

“Really? You expect me to make conversation with you after you almost got me arrested.”

“I didn’t call the cops on you.” He said.

“Right. And that makes perfect sense considering I was basically in the middle of nowhere in the forest outside of town, with no one around but you.”

“Look Rae, I don’t know what I did to make you so perpetually angry or why your so determined to make me dislike you but let me tell you that it’s not gonna work. I find you too intriguing.” He said sternly as he slowly sat down at the table that Rae was situated at. He had a small smile growing on his face.

“You think you’re really sly don’t you? Acting as if you had absolutely nothing to do with me getting caught last night, and then just sitting here casually sipping cider like you’re this innocent little being. ” Said Rae as she took a seat at the table and opened a book.

“I wont lie, I do think that I’m pretty sly, but I honestly didn’t have anything to do with that. Think about it Rae. It was a Friday night, and there were parties going on out in the woods. The cop had probably just been patrolling the area and when he saw your car parked here all alone he more then likely got suspicious and checked it out.” He said as he took a sip of his drink.

He was looking at her so calmly that it was confusing Rae. What could she do about it even if he did do it? It had already happened and she had already paid the fine. What she did was illegal anyways.

She sighed. “Okay.”

“Okay.” said Sebastian smiling.

Rae wanted to smile back but something inside her resisted. “Okay, fine we’ll just agree to disagree. Now if you don’t mind, I’d like to be alone.”

Sebastian gave her a confused look. He slowly stood up and grabbed his drink off the table. He turned to look at Rae and took a breath as if he was about to say something, but he didn’t. He just nodded, turned, and walked away.

Rae found herself with the same feeling in her stomach as the night before. Why did she have to be such an ass. Why was it so hard for her to talk to people?

Rae looked up at Sebastian as she took out a can of paint. It was apparent that he had no intention of leaving.

“Seriously Sebastian this was not an open invitation for you to join me here.” She mumbled as she began painting.

“You say that and yet you’ve made no real attempt to remove me.” he replied.

“What do you expect me to do? Shove you away or something?”

“Well it would be interesting to get some sort of rise out of you. You act as if you have no feelings towards anything when you and I both know that’s not true.”

Rae stopped painting and faced Sebastian. What gave him the right to make assumptions like that? He doesn’t even know her.

He was staring intently at her, almost as if reading her face.

“I don’t know who you think you are or why you’re so intent on forcing your opinions about me down my throat, but let me make this clear. You do not know anything about me, and I have every intention in keeping it that way.” she said sharply.

Sebastian’s jaw clenched and his eyes hardened slightly.

“Whatever you say Miss Rae. Pretend like you don’t have feelings. I’m extending myself to you because I can see you need it, but how many people are willing to put up with it? Not many, but you don’t need me to tell you that do you?” He said curtly as he quickly turned on his heel and began walking back towards the trail.

Rae was confused by the feeling of anger that had just risen in her. But it wasn’t anger towards Sebastian, it was towards herself.

Rae decided that tonight she would go out to find some peace...

Rae decided that tonight she would go out to find some peace between her art and nature. She knew she’d find some quiet out in the woods and ventured off after class. When she had found a spot that she was content with she had started prepping her earthly canvas when she had heard the leaves bustle.

“Hello?” she called.

No answer.

“Hello?” She went through a mental list of what was in her backpack. Spray paints and some random palette knives from her class earlier. Okay the spray paint could double as pepper spray right? She thought to herself. And then the palette knife was self-explanatory. Sure it was hardly a knife but it would do. She scrambled to grab those things out of her backpack when she heard the leaves bustle even more. Just as she had grasped a can of spray paint and pointed it at the bush she had noticed a form had come from the bush and realized it was Sebastian.

“Whoa, please I surrender!” He had said as he put his hands up with a huge smirk on his face.

“Sebastian? What the hell? Are you stalking me now or something?”

” Oh no I wouldn’t dare! You’d paint me to death.” He said still grinning while looking at Rae’s hands.

She looked down to realize that she was still clutching a can of paint.

Rae rolled her eyes and continued laying down tape onto the ground.

“So please explain to me how you even found me out here.” She said.

“Well one of the guys in my class had invited me to a bonfire somewhere out here and on my way there I had saw your car and became curious.”
He said.

“Well, now that you’re here there’s no more reason to be curious. You’ve found me and now you can run along to your little frat boy party.” Rae sneered. She didn’t mean to sound so cross but she was feeling slightly self-conscious at the fact that Sebastian had witnessed her freaking out like that. It made her feel vulnerable and she didn’t like that.
